Recovery Sprint

Get a stalled transformation moving again.

A focused 20-business-day engagement to address immediate delivery risks, rebuild the plan and put clear ownership behind the next steps. Every Recovery Sprint is led by a senior practitioner who has run SAP and Kinaxis program recoveries before.

01

When a Recovery Sprint may be appropriate

  • Go-live has slipped and escalations are mounting.
  • The main issues are understood, but decisions and action are not keeping pace.
  • Workstreams are blocked by unclear priorities or ownership.
  • Plans no longer reflect the work, dependencies or people available.
  • Leaders need focused senior support to put the recovery plan into action.
02

Four phases across 20 business days

A four-week working sequence, with priorities and timing confirmed for the agreed scope.

  1. Week 1

    Mobilize and Align

Confirm scope, decision authority and priorities.

  2. Week 2

    Contain and Stabilize

Address near-term risks and decision gaps.

  3. Week 3

    Reconstruct Delivery Control

    Re-establish ownership, plans and governance.

  4. Week 4

    Activate and Transfer

Put the plan into operation and confirm ongoing ownership.

03

Expected focus

  • Immediate priorities and containment actions.
  • Leadership alignment and decision cadence.
  • Ownership, accountability and escalation paths.
  • Credible delivery plans, dependencies and measures.
  • Operational readiness and continuity risks relevant to the recovery scope.
  • Transfer of control and clear next-stage responsibilities.
04

What a successful sprint requires

  • An executive sponsor with decision authority.
  • Named stakeholders who can participate and make decisions.
  • Access to delivery plans, relevant data and current risks.

Kinaxis RapidResponse implementation: global semiconductor company

As Engagement Manager with a global systems integrator.

Situation

The company was replacing its legacy planning, data and ERP environment with Kinaxis RapidResponse in phases. During delivery, the key onshore architect resigned, functional designs repeatedly fell short of client expectations, and customer escalations mounted while several workstreams ran in parallel.

Role

Led delivery, replanning, and project governance for a cross-functional team of developers, project managers, and architects.

Outcome

  • Went live on budget despite losing a key resource mid-project.
  • Replanned the functional design specifications several times to close gaps with client expectations, without affecting the development schedule.
  • Backfilled the architect role and brought in an additional technical lead to relieve the capacity crunch.
  • Closed first-sprint system integration testing with no delays. 30 of 33 user stories were complete, and four core planning specifications were signed off.
  • Kept the team sustainable through parallel workstreams and escalations by rebalancing workload and bringing in support.
